WRINGLOCKE: Chapter 12

"hey this is my big old history and background chapter! I should make it super neat and cool looking by painting everything!" - me, making an awful, terrible decision _{(they were meant to be "quick speedpaints" too but as usual I end up getting way too invested and put in more work than necessary, lmao. at least they look nice......)}

but hey wow look at all that history. I think I mentioned somewhere that actual pokemon don't really exist in this universe, which was... technically true. they don't exist in the sense of what they are commonly known as, ie the "original" forms of a gijinka, but rather as a completely different sort of species that aren't even called "pokemon". and that species happens to be "bloodthirsty violent monsters who want to destroy everything" :U

I didn't want to really wanna divulge all this at the very beginning because I sorta wanted to try... building up to it instead? just sorta waiting a bit and dropping hints before getting into the nitty gritty of it all. not quite sure if I succeeded as well as I wanted to, or if it feels like it just kinda...... flops onto you out of nowhere. but hey. sorry that it is most definitely very "words.png", ahem 8V;

RANDOM OTHER BITS OF INFO: the "series of islands" that was decided was basically near Johto and Sinnoh, meaning they did not have to do the migration as they were already set as the starting point. thus, they're the two regions that have the most intact original remains of their region's past. there are of course weird ruins and bits in other New World regions, but they are not those region's "originals" and probably from some other civilization from the past.
also, in the Old World, Kanto wasn't next to Johto like it is now, but they had always had good relations with each other, so New World Kanto was established right next to Johto and they've maintained good standing with each other since.
ALSO ALSO there are some regions that were established after the New World. they're mainly smaller regions, but the biggest and most notable example is Unova, which has since been able to make great progress in research and become a major center for technological advances-- oh my god why am I putting so much thought into this somebody stop me
