hello hello, changes are looming on the horizon...
so for a long while now, I've been meaning to just completely overhaul my commission information and prices because it is painfully outdated (the examples there right now are from around 2011-2012 ewww), but I'm still setting up some things to do so. but in this case, I want to implement this one particular change right now, since I've been feeling a bit iffy about it for a while and my icons are far more popular anyway so it's more relevant.
previously, my icons ran at $4.00 each, with $4.50 for animation, which most people usually ask for. but after making quite a lot of icons over the years, I realize this isn't a very effective pricing system anymore. for some of my icons, they'll have minor animation or really basic movement. other times, they will have these complex actions where I have to draw multiple complicated frames. considering one of these involves a buttload more work than the other, it doesn't really make sense for me to charge them the same price across the board! there's also the fact that when I first set those prices back then, I was still just starting to get back into pixel work and I didn't really feel as confident in them, so I just set them super cheap. nowadays, I'm still certainly no professional pixel master or anything, but I do think I've improved decently and I feel more confident, so I think I should reflect that.
SO BASICALLY, based on those ideas, I've changed my commission prices for icons a bit. they've been better categorized based on their complexity of animation and price adjustments to reflect that. you can view said changes below!
Basic Icon/No Animation
$4.00
Simple, no animation icons. May have some very tiny animation thing like a floating logo (ie the pony icons), but that's usually it.
======
Small Animation
$4.50
Has very minimal animation. A blink, a bounce, generally very simple stuff.
======
Normal Animation
$6.50
Usually has some sort of specific movement or action involved. A tail swishing, heads moving, an arm doing some sort of gesture, etc. Could also just have multiple small moving parts. If no specifics for animation is given when requesting a commission, it will default under this category.
======
Complex Animation
$8.00
Has a "full" animation, usually with some intricate movement or action. A good rule of thumb is if I have to manually draw new frames and poses, then it probably falls in this category.
======
so there you have it! some of these prices may vary slightly because they might border between two categories, but that'll be discussed individually when it comes up.
if you've commissioned me before but I haven't finished it yet, no worries-- you don't have to pay any sort of extra cost or anything like that.
there may be some confusion about pony icons now! when I first set my commissions, I had those as their little special section because I got a lot of requests for them at the time. these days, I don't get them as often anymore, and it seems people are a fan of the little bouncy pony icons with more animation lately anyways. so, I basically decided to omit it. from now on, pony icons will be counted under basic icons.
I'm hoping this doesn't feel like it's coming out of the blue, or is too much of a problem for people (I mean, even with the increased price it's still way below minimum wage :V). but, with these changes, I'll feel less like I'm putting way too much work in for way too cheap, and end up getting burnt out really easily as a result.
ALSO CONCERNING POINT COMMISSIONS: I really do plan on opening them up again soon-- I told myself that I wanted to get through some of my current commissions first before doing so. but it feels like whenever I finish one, I end up getting like ten more, lol. BUT they will be open eventually once I do get a decent chunk finished.
thanks for understanding! more changes concerning commissions will be coming in the future once I finish working everything out :>

the (belated) cameo requests
so this is PRETTY late coming, mostly because I've been lazy, BUT I'd like to open up opportunities of cameos for background characters!! I've never really had a need for them before but I figure it's fun and I want to try and populate the world a little more and also I may have a crowd scene in the next page that I've been putting off for months and need to fill up I mean what
anyways! just feel free to fill out the form right here! it's self-explanatory, and "site" just means what site you're from (dA, tumblr, etc) and where you would like to be credited and linked back to.

EIGHT FACTS + brief status update
(whoops I never use journals)
so hey I was tagged by SilverStrangequark (https://www.deviantart.com/silverstrangequark) to do that eight facts meme that was going around ages ago! I was actually tagged quiiite a while ago, but I was saving it for when I had writer's block and wanted to pretend like I was still being productive :V
it was tagged for Elle, but I started doing Leon on accident at first cuz I wasn't paying attention lol. SO YOU'LL JUST GET BOTH CUZ WHY NOT
Eight facts about Elle:
Her family is unusually big. Most families stick to one child, maybe two, while her family had 6 kids total (technically 5 now), with her being the third youngest. Her mother is Iranian, while
generic title, just pixel updates
ugh, okay. I had this whole thing written out and then my browser crashed and for some reason sta.sh didn't save it SOOOO I'll just get right to the point
ahem
first of all, I changed up some commission prices and info for pixel stuff. you can find all that dealio over here:
enjoy it, cuuuuz it'll probably be the last time I'm updating this account with any info from my pixel account!
so a while ago I decided to make a separate account for my pixel art (which is Umbex (https://www.deviantart.com/umbex), for reference). and I said at the time that I'll still keep updates on both here and that account, but...... at this point, I consider pixel stuff such a separate cate
aaand commissions closed!
well, technically they closed a few days ago, but I never made an actual announcement :V blame that on finals for making me basically a scatterbrained mess for like the past week, lol
but yep, as I said, december 12 is closing time and we are now past all that. pretty simple! thank you to everyone, and hopefully I can get through this batch at a decent pace and open them again soon! ;0

Hey there! I'm just checking before assuming, but if these are open I would love to commission a couple of icons from you!
